In the south-east, they were very beautiful sirenes
who lured people into the water with their wonderful songs.
Her ugly laughing could kill a man. Once their prisoner,
one could only come free by solving their riddles.
In the north, they were discribed as evil, ugly beings,
which were taking travellers from the shore into the deep.
In summer, the Rusalki lived in the woods.
